How To Convert Flash Vector To Illustrator

December 15th, 2012 · 1 Comment

Situation:
You have been given a flash file and you want to extract the graphics which are all done in flash and convert it into a vector file. The software that i’m using here are Flash CS6 and Illustrator CS6.

Solution:

    1. Open the flash file.
    2. Select the graphic you want to extract.
    3. Go to File > Export > Export Selection > Save as .fxg
    4. Open Illustrator and create a new document. File > New
    5. Go to File > Place
    6. To edit the lines, shapes and colors, select the object and break to symbol. Right click > Break Link to Symbol

There are times when the color is not imported properly into Illustrator, like when the flash file object has color blending. I can fix the color manually in Illustrator, but when I don’t have a lot of time, and If I don’t really need to edit the shape for the artwork, i’ll just export it as PNG. That’ll do the trick.

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand.

It seems too complex and very broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
