Octwelve is a finalist in the Philippine Blog Awards 2008! Yay! Vote for me!

September 16th, 2008 · 13 Comments ·

Voting for the bloggers choice award is now open! And yes, I’m late :P

Anyway, I’m really really excited about this! A few months back, one guy told me that he nominated me for this blog award. It’s like the most prestigious blog award in the Philippines. I didn’t get a confirmation email about this so I thought I didn’t make it. But today, I’m totally surprised that I made it to the finals!! Wow!

So guys, vote for me ^_^ Why? I dunno why I deserve it. All I know is I want to be recognize in my own country. It’ll be very special :)  Thing is this blog is more popular in foreign countries than in my own homeland.

How to vote? Here’s the tricky part..

To vote, you MUST be a Filipino blogger, which means, you need to own a blog. You might be blogging on Blogger, Wordpress.Com, Live Journal, Friendster, Multiply, or on a self-hosted blog—it doesn’t matter—the point is, you need to have a blog to vote. Your blog must be established at least three (3) months from today with a minimum of 10 posts.

Step 1.
On your blog, tell why you want me to win.

Step 2.
Submit that post URL and basic info to the Philippine Blog Awards committee using this form

What you get out of this? Well, you can make me happy, which I really need because I’ve been unhappy lately ^_^ Plus you also get a chance to win a Nokia N82.

Thanks guys!! Cheers!

Face Your Manga Craze!

September 12th, 2008 · 9 Comments ·

I noticed so many people in Twitter started changing their avatar to some cartoonish icon. I asked around (well, around twitter) and found out that these are from www.faceyourmanga.com, a site which basically lets you create a cartoon version of your face.

Though I don’t plan on changing my Twitter avatar forever, I thought I’d give it a try and see how I would look like if I’m a manga ^_^

So this is my Face Your Manga avatar. Though the mole isn’t exactly on the right position, and I’m not really sure if my eyes are that huge and round but I think this is the closest  heehee

Geez! Hell of a Week!

September 6th, 2008 · 10 Comments ·

Because accomodation in Singapore is so damn expensive, foreign workers usually share the house. In my case, I rented a room of an old psycho lady. She accused me of stealing her bloody picture and started doing funny stuff to me. It’s a totally lame accusation to kick me out. There’s one night that she didn’t let me in. In the middle of the night, I had to go back to our office and spend the night there. I never thought I could encounter people like this in Singapore. I thought Singapore is a very very safe and peaceful place to live in. But there are many cheaters out there. My colleague has been cheated twice too. I wanted to move to another place as soon as possible but she gave a deadline shorter than what I’ve expected…2 days. Stress stress stresss…

Now I’m staying at a temporary room here at Toa Payoh. I’ve been here for a week. Tomorrow I’ll be moving to another house shared with a filipino family in Bedok. I have a good feeling that I’ll be ok there. The people and house is nicer, unlike my last house in Hougang, which is so rubbish like the owner. First time, I went inside that house at Hougang, I had a feeling that I don’t really like it…I had a bad vibe. I guess vibes are true. Thank God, I’m out of that house. And I gotta thank my colleagues too for helping me to get the hell out.

Number Sequences From The Angels

August 20th, 2008 · 7 Comments ·

I got this article about how angels communicate with us by showing us number sequences. Do you believe in angels? I do. Today, I’ve been seeing so many 222. And when I saw it on Twitter, I wanted to blog it 2… i mean too ^_^

222 — Our newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality. Keep watering and nurturing them, and soon they will push through the soil so you can see evidence of your manifestation. In other words, don’t quit five minutes before the miracle. Your manifestation is soon going to be evident to you, so keep up the good work! Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming, and continue visualizing.

Interested? ^_^ Know the meaning of your sequence here.

My New Toy: Nikon D40

August 11th, 2008 · 14 Comments ·

I finally got myself a new camera. After all the advices, I decided to go with Nikon D40. It’s nothing grand but I guess it’s enough for a novice like me. Also, I don’t wanna spend so much while I’m at level 1. I’m still trying to figure out how to operate this and I can’t wait for the day to master it and shoot nice photos! For now, excuse my blurry shots! Haha

And here’s my first test shot (auto focus). Meet Killua!

After an hour, I realized I can focus manually haha.

That’s it for now. Wish me luck! ^_^

Happy song

August 4th, 2008 · 5 Comments ·

I just finished watching the latest episode of Bleach. Anime series really keep me company when I’m all alone at my room. Then I remembered this soundtrack from season 3 or 4. It’s nostalgic but it cheered me up. I think it’s my most favorite anime soundtrack because it’s a simple and happy song and it somehow expresses my heart. It’s a japanese song but here’s the translation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. ^_^

I promise you, I’ll never forget it, my precious ones, who laugh with me, support me,
and keep me going.I spend all my days here the same way,
chilling out, relaxed and unconcerned.
There are so many things to do,
a lot of them impossible for me.
It’s totally overwhelming,
but I’m always ready to do what I can
because everyone has a smile on their face.
I may not say it very often,
but I really am grateful for my family and friends.
The time we spend together is so special,
I could never replace any of them.
We’ve got this moment, we’ve got each other,
stopping, standing and laughing together.
I’m so thankful, I could cry. This feeling is so wonderful,
it makes today seem like a wild dream.

I promise you, I’ll never forget it, my precious ones,
who laugh with me, support me,
and keep me going.

I just want everyone to be friendly in front of others
The loss of sadness makes everyone smile
Once in awhile, I use my own style which is left in the junk
Like when you watched me when I wrapped

I’m too embarrassed to say anymore, but thank you
When I’m alone in a tunnel, the light spills to you
You call me, when you’re busy and tired to say “Good night”
There is always kindness and happiness

This feeling is so wonderful,
it makes today seem like a wild dream.
I promise you, I’ll never forget it, my precious ones,
who laugh with me, support me,
and keep me going.

Sometimes, things are tense but things always end up good
Eventually, it comes from important and heartfelt wishes

But I am always thankful to be alive now
I’ll tell you, I’m always happy.

This feeling is so wonderful,
it makes today seem like a wild dream.
I promise you, I’ll never forget it, my precious ones,
who laugh with me, support me,
and keep me going.

Today, and even tomorrow and the day after, we’ll keep laughing together
We’re all tied to the same fate
Today, and even tomorrow and the day after, we’ll walk together
Whatever happens now, is meant to be.

Thank you, Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you, thank you
